Late in 2005, last year, I felt God was leading me to more mission work this year. I had already gone down to Haiti for several weeks, and saw first hand the need the world has for help. And so I was open for opportunities. Shortly after that, I was reading in a small newsletter I get in the mail, called 'Gospelink', 'NEEDED, missionaries to go with us to Africa'. It really stood out, and so I investigated it, and soon called in and signed up.
Gospelink is a ministry designed to find families in America who are willing to 'adopt' and support a native pastor and his family in Africa. In turn the pastor as to at least send quarterly letters to the family.
Gospelink also has material
and sends out a newsletter
every month. They get several
groups of missionaries together
to go over there every year as
well.
Right now it is exciting to see
how their current project is
coming along. They are building
a Bible college, there in the middle
of Africa! All the funds come from
donations!
Leaving on June 3rd, I should get
back a couple weeks later, June 22.
This is not part of ALERT! However,
the twist to that is, I first heard about
Gospelink, and I signed up for their
newsletter after a representitive from Gospelink came and spoke at ALERT while I was in training at ALERT!
