nice metal roof on it.
Ideas started going through my head, and I thought, ‘I can use the whole building, and make an addition to ‘our’ house!’ So I bought the house, and got the whole thing staged at our place. A story I wrote in the middle of the project was this:

Today, I got up to a white morning, to get ready for the shop project, the building I bought, so we could use the materials for our future, planned house addition.

Actively snowing. Radio forecast said we might get rain, and up to 1" of snow.
There was an inch in some places as I drove my truck, to pick up a couple guys from church, and we headed down to Salcha. At one point on the freeway, I was driving at a pretty good angle to the road. Took a couple seconds to get back going forward again.
I have my summer tires on.
Was pretty hard, but we got to the shop, and parked and went to work. Was a very miserable day. I fared better than the other guys, and I ended up supplying water, heat pads, boots and gloves. And we took breaks to warm up in my truck.
The wind and snow was pretty bad, and it melted on us, and gloves got soaked pretty quick. But it stayed on everything else.

First break, I got in the truck, and my head started getting wet. I did not realize my hair was full of snow.
Heat pads did not work very well, because it was too warm, and our gloves got wet.
It snowed and snowed. It snowed probably 4". When it was time to go home, yeah, right.
Took a long time to shovel paths for my tires, spread sand, and make it up the driveway to the road.
The road had no traffic, and I did not make it very far.
I called the guy up, and asked if I could get a tow. He then towed us 4-5 miles to the highway. There was no way I would have been able to get out any other way.
That is what happens when you put summer tires on! (too soon)

The logs are apparently 40 years old, are in good condition, and are on their third or fourth use.
There will be tons of metal left over from the 16x16 addition we are planning for the house. So we have much of the material to do the addition when it is time, for a fraction of the price.
