You guessed it, that is me.
Our group was really safe.
Well, as safe as you can be working on clearing out dangerous trees and entangelments!
All chainsaw operators wore safety chaps, which are pants filled with a special fiber, which when a saw chain hits it, the chain grabs the fibers, and pulls it into the sprocket, and jams the chain, and stops it.
This is done in a fraction of a second, and will save your leg before the chain can cut through the chaps.
Thanks and praise to God, we never had to test the effectivness of them, or for any safety gear, for that matter!
ALso, we wore a safety helmet/hearing/face protection. Gloves and boots were also required.
I got to spend a good deal of time on the chainsaw, and cut down several trees between houses.
Our group used some nice STIHL saws.
